Palm Springs is known for its decadent lifestyle and superior culinary scene, so it’s no wonder this oasis city is chock full of incredible cocktail bars. With so many places to enjoy these handcrafted libations, we’ve compiled a list of five of the best cantinas and speakeasies in town.

Truss & Twine

Located between the El Mirador and Old Las Palmas districts, this unique cocktail bar has a firm grasp on the past while keeping its eyes on the future.

With multiple cocktails from various eras, from the Golden Age to the Dark Ages, the cocktails here are as clever as they are delicious, made with premium ingredients by talented bartenders.

Be sure to also try the food here, with standout fare such as the Wagyu Oxtail Grilled Cheese.

Seymour’s

Hidden behind a curtain in Mr. Lyon’s, located south of Tahquitz and north of The Mesa, entering Seymour’s immediately gives you a sense of entering a speakeasy during the Prohibition Era — and the cocktails certainly match this vibe.

Don’t forget to grab your drink and check out the outdoor patio area, an open space where guests can enjoy a game of bocce ball or horseshoes in the warm Palm Springs air.

Tiki Bootlegger

Located in the same space as the iconic Don the Beachcomber restaurant that opened in 1953, Tiki Bootlegger offers a fun, engaging atmosphere in a historic building conveniently located between the Movie Colony and El Mirador districts.

With multiple creative drinks and personable bartenders, the biggest decision of your night won’t be whether to have a second one but whether to stick with the same cocktail or try a different delicious invention.

The Amigo Room

This unpretentious haunt may not look like much, but one step inside, and you'll understand why it's consistently placed on lists of the best cocktail bars in the city.

With undeniably cool vibes, incredibly crafted cocktails and, when permitted, some of the best live shows in the city, all within a building that used to be an old Denny's just south of Tahquitz and north of The Mesa.

PS Air

Stepping inside this quirky cocktail bar in Downtown Palm Springs is an aviation-themed bar that’s sure to impress. Two former flight attendants opened it.

Heavily influenced by 1960s airlines such as Pan Am, this 737-themed bar’s decor is complete with airplane seats, siding and windows, treating you to the best parts of flying without any of the hassle.

And who would want to leave Palm Springs, anyway?
