3 Old Las Palmas Celebrity Homes
1. 432 HERMOSA
The famous architect Donald Wexler designed this Mid-Century Modern estate in 1964. Wexler originally designed the home for Dinah Shore, but its current owner is Leonardo DiCaprio. It has enormous windows showing off the incredible desert views, palm trees, and the stunning San Jacinto Mountains. It sits on a private 1.3-acre property. The property has six bedrooms and 7½ bathrooms between the main house, a guest house, and a casita. It has a chef's kitchen, fireplaces, a heated pool and spa, and a tennis court. The property is just a short walk to great restaurants, clubs, theaters, art galleries, and Palm Canyon Drive. It's the ideal spot to stay for local events like Coachella and Palm Springs International Film Festival. It comes fully furnished as a rental and offers tons of space and amenities for a luxurious stay.
2. Liberace House
Contractor Jack Slaten built this house in 1951. In 1966, Liberace bought it and made it his home until 1974. He jazzed up the joint to match his Hollywood Regency style. And get this: it's the only house left in Palm Springs that still looks like it did when the classic celebrity lived there. That makes it a unique gem among gems. Think Spanish Colonial Revival vibes, tons of mirrors, fancy chandeliers, themed rooms, and all the flashy decor you can imagine. It's a private home now, but it's a cool piece of Palm Springs history, thanks to Liberace's unique touch.
3. Casa Elizabeth
Elizabeth Taylor once owned this Palm Springs home. Recently, her close friend Kathy Ireland gave it a beautiful makeover. The 4,200-square-foot house is all-white. It boasts an inviting open-concept great room with floor-to-ceiling glass doors. These doors lead out to a covered terrace and a lush garden filled with palm trees. The property's highlights include a sparkling swimming pool surrounded by a sunny deck and views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Affectionately referred to as "Casa Elizabeth," it was listed for sale at $5 million in 2023.
