Architect Billy Bell Jr. designed and built BDCC in 1960, and it has 27 holes.
The Bob Hope Desert Classic was played at Bermuda Dunes from 1960 to 2006. Professional golfers like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper, and many other notable professionals have won at BDCC. Moreover, BDCC has one of the most extended connections with the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA). The club has hosted PGA Tour events from 1960 to 2018.
