History Of El Rancho Vista Estates Homes For Sale

What makes this community such a popular place to live is that it recently underwent a major restoration in the early 2000s. Now, the homes boast a perfect mix of old and new--with mid-century modern architecture and contemporary amenities. There’s no better place to live in Palm Springs than here!

Palm Springs LandscapeMuch of the initial development in this community occurred between 1959 and 1960. During this time, approximately sixty mid-century modern houses designed by famed architects, Donald Wexler and Ric Harrison, were constructed by developer Roy Fey.

The intention of this Modernist tract development was to bring high-end, mid-century modern homes to the working class. As such, there are three main models that can be purchased. Many of these models include luxury features such as in-ground pools and master-landscaped yards.

Later, in the 1970s, other ranch-style homes that are more typical of California were added to the neighborhood.

Starting in the 2000s, this community and the Palm Springs Preservation Foundation have been working together to create one of the best restored Modernist neighborhoods in the city. Many of the houses here have been dramatically remodeled in order to recapture their original charm.

Today, these houses impress all types of homebuyers. The exteriors are crafted from white stone and custom brickwork, and many feature the classic butterfly roof. Floor-to-ceiling glass exposures, and clerestory windows ensure that these homes are airy and bright inside. Interiors are decorated with redwood ceilings characteristic of the building style, and spacious floor plans offer residents ample opportunity to live, play, and relax in comfort.
