Racquet Club Estates is located a short distance from the downtown core, top amenities, and excellent schools, making this a great community for people from all walks of life. When it was constructed, Racquet Club Estates served as part-time homes for many members of the famed Palm Springs Racquet Club.
Of the 550 single-family homes in the neighborhood, approximately 360 of them were constructed by the Alexander Construction Company between 1959 and 1960. These homes make up the largest tract of mid-century modern homes that the Alexanders constructed. They are characterized by floor plans of 1,225 square feet, floor-to-ceiling windows, and elevated ceilings for a big indoor feel.
Two basic floor plans were offered. The plan "A" had a side-facing front door and the plan "B," which was rotated with the front door facing the street. Since their initial construction more than sixty years ago, many Racquet Club Estates homes have been completely renovated to contemporary standards. These renovated homes feature beautifully renovated kitchens and baths with high-end finishes and fixtures.
