The Mesa Neighborhood in Palm Springs - An Exclusive Community With Exceptional Homes for Sale
One of the oldest and most exclusive neighborhoods in Palm Springs, CA, The Mesa has been popular with prominent wealthy families and celebrities since the 1920’s. The architecture in this unique community exhibits various styles that range from Spanish colonial, contemporary, and midcentury homes, each contributing to the neighborhood’s rich architectural heritage. The Mesa Palm Springs is a 180-home community near the base of Mount San Jacinto by the intersection of South Palm Canyon Drive and El Portal. Originally created in the 1920s by Edmond Fulford, an LA businessman who desired a quiet, private community with just one entrance, The Mesa in Palm Springs was one of the first gated communities here. There are now a few more entries to this private community, but it retains its luxurious and exclusive appeal. One of the original gate columns is still standing and can be seen on El Portal at South Palm Canyon Drive and this iconic relic is pictured on the neighborhood’s street signs.
