The Festival is an excellent launching pad for talented filmmakers trying to break into the movie industry. For film fans, it's a fun side activity while checking out real estate properties in the city.

Types of ShortFest Access

Do you want to attend parties as well as screenings? You should get the Patron Pass, which provides reserved seating and access to all events (except those exclusive to filmmakers). It also includes a complimentary pass to the Virtual Best-of-Fest, which airs from July 7-13.

The Insider Pass offers general seating and access to some events. College students can also get a pass for general seating and access to forums and classes.

Important dates to remember

Ticket sales began on June 3, so don't wait too long! The event is a seven-day showcase of nearly 300 shorts chosen from over 6,000 submissions running from June 20 through June 26. The film screening starts on June 20, with the Opening Night scheduled at 9:00 pm. On June 25, screenings resume at 1:00 pm; the Closing Night is at 5:30 pm.

It's easier to plan your day throughout the Festival week by checking out the Palm Springs International ShortFest 2023 films. Use the Finder to choose from the complete lineup of shorts selected for screening.

ShortFest ends on June 26, but there's no harm in staying for a few more days in Palm Springs—even longer. If you own a house here, there's no need to worry about rentals.
