Palm Springs is a beautiful place to spend Valentine’s Day. The weather is not too hot, desert flowers are just starting to bloom and the clear skies are perfect for stargazing. Planning a big move to the city? Then take the stress out of planning Valentine’s Day and check out the following things to do with a significant other.

Special Tour at Living Desert Zoo and Gardens - Tequila Included

Head to the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens for a special tour of the Park after Dark. This tour takes people up close to the animals minus all of the usual daytime crowds. Current animals on display include an amur leopard, a camel, and a golden eagle. The Friday after Valentine’s Day is adult night, which includes a tequila tasting with the tour.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to Dinner at Peak’s Restaurant

Enjoy breathtaking views of the Coachella Valley on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. The tramway was the dream of electrical engineer Francis Crocker, who wanted a way to travel to the peak of the San Jacinto Mountains. The finish project was an engineering feat dubbed as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Take the tramway to Peak’s Restaurant on Valentine’s Day for a special prix fixe menu. Dinner options include braised short ribs and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert, and it comes with a complimentary glass of champagne.

Staycation at Ace Hotel and Swim Club

Book a romantic getaway for two at the Ace Hotel and Swim Club. Visitors can unwind at the swimming pool or book a full body massage at the hotel’s Feel Good Spa. The hotel’s adjacent restaurant King’s Highway and The Amigo Room is hosting a special Valentine’s dinner as well. The restaurant’s three-course menu includes a butter poached king prawn and boxed chocolate with honey dates. Wine is half off every Wednesday.

Enjoy An Aromatic Set While Indulging Drinks and Desserts

Head to the spa after dinner for a special olfactory show. Daniela Gesundheit of Snowblink will perform songs matched to scents such as honey and molasses, the ocean spray and a campfire. Drinks and dessert will be available at the performance, and the event is free to the public.

Organic Wine and Chocolate Tasting by Gay Desert Guide

The website Gay Desert Guide is hosting a Valentine’s Day Wine and Dessert pairing at On the Mark in downtown Palm Springs. The event starts at 5:30 p.m., and it includes 6-8 organic wines along with chocolates and other desserts. Attendees will receive an official On the Mark wine glass during the tasting.

Soar Through The Sky In A Hot Air Balloon Ride

Couples can take their love to the skies on a hot air balloon ride. People can choose flights that lift off at sunset or sunrise for extra romance. The rides last about an hour, during which people can get views of the Coachella Valley, Palm Springs’ sweeping golf courses and orchards. For $100 extra, people can order a customized banner to adorn the balloon basket.

Explore Vineyards Through The Temecula Valley

Spots are still available for Adventure Hummer’s wine tasting tour through the Temecula Valley. The tour starts around 10 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. Drivers will pick people up from any hotel or home in the Palm Springs area and take them to three vineyards. Lunch is included at the Cougar Vineyard, and an expert wine tasting guide will join the ride to answer any questions.

Hike Tahquitz Canyon

Tahquitz Canyon is another good option for enjoying nature and learning more about the local Native American population. There is a 60-foot waterfall, rock art, and ancient irrigation systems from the Agua Caliente tribe on display. Visitors can learn more about the tribe at the nearby Agua Caliente Cultural Museum.

Indulge At A Valentine’s Special Buffet

For fun after the hike, head to the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa. Both the steakhouse and on-site buffet are running a Valentine’s special. The steakhouse is offering a three-course meal, while the buffet has different stations available such as the pan pacific and pasta station.

Lovely Evening For Two At Mister Parker’s

There are several places offering a romantic evening for two, but one that stands out is the intimate Mister Parker’s at The Parker Palm Springs. This place naturally has a romantic atmosphere, but it’s even more so during their Valentine’s Day dinner. Their menu includes oysters to start, a quinoa crust goat cheese tart as a main entree, and a caramelized banana panna cotta with an espresso crumble for dessert.
