Beautiful mountain scenery, gorgeous weather, and an endless surplus of the best golf courses around encompass the greatness that is Palm Springs. Just imagine waking up every morning with the sun peeking over the mountains just outside your window and starting your day in a sunny paradise. With its high end hotels, modern architecture, and an accepting atmosphere, it’s no wonder so many people choose to live there.
If you’ve never moved before, prepare for some stress and headaches. Even moving local within the same city can be a vexing process. Between bureaucratic tasks like redirecting mail, changing your billing address, updating your contacts, and minor tasks like getting a new dog sitter and finding a new route to work (or a new job altogether), you’ll have your hands full. And then there are the not-so-simple matters of packing and moving.
Moving to Palm Springs when you’re not ready or prepared to retire can be challenging. I know. I moved here five years ago without a job or a career I could pursue in the desert and there was no way I could stop working. I had been a commercial still life photographer in San Francisco and I knew that career wasn’t an option in the Palm Springs area.
